Bag on Valves (BOV) Spray Technology

BOV Valves are generally used for products requiring a continuous spray (i.e. sun screens) and products that cannot mix with the propellant (i.e. shaving gel). Cans are pressurize with air creating a pressure within the can and outside of the bag. The product (material) is then filled into the bag on valve. Once filled, the additional pressure created within the space between the outside of the bag and the can is what will cause the material to be evacuated when the button (actuator) is pushed by the user.

Advantages of BOV

1. Continuous Spray – the can sprays when it is in any position including on its side and upside down. Regular aerosols do not. This is ideal for pretendTAN Bronzing Mist as it is applied all over the face and body by the person themselves and the can tends to be used at many orientations.
2. Product does not mix with a propellant – Using a BOV means that the material is not affected by the propellant and potentially changing its characteristics as well as diluting the material’s effect. This ensures you are spraying on the very concentrate that was developed for pretendTAN and not diluted product that may have lost its potency. The BOV aerosol gives a much better (mistier) spray much like the professional airbrush tan applied by a technician.
3. From an environmental angle, BOV cans are pressurizes with air. Therefore there are no propellants being sprayed into the atmosphere when using a BOV. Once the can is empty, and when deposed, there are no residual propellants as the can has only air inside it.
